What We Believe

We believe the Bible is our all-sufficient guide for faith and practice. Psalm 119:105, Psalm 19:7-8, Joshua 1:8

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God. They are His revelation to humanity and serve as the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man. Romans 1:4, Matthew 1:23, John 1:14, Colossians 2:9

We believe humanity was created in the image of God, but sinned and incurred both physical death and spiritual death (separation from God). All human beings are born with a sinful nature, and those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word, and deed. Genesis 1:27, Romans 5:12-19

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as our representative and substitutionary sacrifice. He was bodily raised from the dead for our justification, ascended into heaven, and now serves as our High Priest and Advocate. We are redeemed and born again as sons and daughters of God through faith in the atonement provided by His shed blood. The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit, and the outward evidence is a life of righteousness and true holiness before God and others. We believe in the ordinance of baptism by immersion for all who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. In baptism we publicly declare our identification with Christ’s death and our resurrection to new life in Him. Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:36-38, Romans 6:4

We believe in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and the fruit of the vine. It is a symbol of our sharing in the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ, a memorial of His suffering and death, a proclamation of His second coming, and is to be observed by all believers “until He comes.” 2 Peter 1:1,3,4; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, 21, 26

We believe the Holy Spirit empowers believers for witness and service. Being in dwelt by the Holy Spirit and being baptized in the Holy Spirit are distinct experiences, though they may occur close together. The promise of the Father is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ, empowering them to live and minister in the power of the age to come. As seen in the Book of Acts, speaking in tongues is a common evidence — though not the only evidence — of receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit continually desires to fill each believer with power for witness & imparts His supernatural gifts for the building up of the Church & the advancement of God’s mission in the world. All the gifts of the Holy Spirit active in the first-century church are available today and should be earnestly desired and practiced. They remain essential to the Church’s mission in the world. Statement of Faith

We believe…

  • The Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

  • There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • In His virgin birth.

  • In His sinless life.

  • In His miracles.

  • In His atoning death, which fully paid the price for our sins.

  • In His bodily resurrection.

  • In His ascension to the right hand of God the Father.

  • In His personal return in power and glory.

  • That justification by faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential for the salvation of lost and sinful people.

  • In the local church as the primary agency for the work of the Kingdom of God.

  • In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, which includes regeneration, power for godly living, spiritual gifts for the edification of the church, and the fruit of the Spirit — reflecting the character of Jesus Christ in us.

  • In the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
